Great ambiance and food!
first thing I did after checking into my hotel. awesome place and service was outstanding. sat at the bar and ordered apps, and drinks after a long flight from JFK. must visit when in the neighborhood....
Great place for dinner with good wine
Beautiful restaurant. Service was just above average vs the price. The food was very good. Small pours given the prices. Maybe the problem is pretentiousness. This could be, and maybe has been, a true fine dining experience.
The decor is out of this world. Service attentive. Oysters tasty. Swordfish was the best I've experienced. Next time in San Francisco, this is a must stop.
Loved this place. The service was impeccable.Food is very tasty. Portions on the small side.Ambiance is lovely.
Unlike any other venue--you're literally taking a delightfully, light journey "50,000 leagues below sea level" during some of the finest dining and cocktail service in San Francisco. If all you go for is to see the sights and drinks at the bar, it's well worth the trip...especially if you've grown bored with "formula rock" restaurants.
Romantic historic location with jellyfish ceiling light decor and low lightening to make any day a special occasion. Choose a three piece course for $80 or a four piece. For sure do not miss out on the oysters with the champagne mignette. I dined as a single person travelling to the area and felt it was extraordinary service
My husband and I went to Farallon to celebrate our Anniversary but we didn't make a reservation in time. Instead, we ended up sitting at the bar and were able to have the full menu. We ended up loving sitting at the bar for the atmosphere and the two bar tenders really went out of their way to make the evening special for us. The food was incredible. We particularly liked the oysters and the ahi poke bowls. I think we just found our new anniversary dinner place for eternity!
Very good restaurant. Fixed price menu on weekends. Expensive but very good.
Absolutely incredible dining experience. Menu changes daily so always different. Oysters were great! Lobster bisque was exceptional and I had the Scallops for a main and they were phenomenal paired with the Risotto. Overall one of the best meals I had ever had and that's just the food. The service was above and beyond. Will 100% be returning to this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. You feel as thou you are back in the 1920 s.
Wonderful experience in the former swimming pool area (really). We walked in with our party without reservation and were welcomed with proper friendliness. Great selection of dishes (changes every day). Prices on the higher level, as can be expected. Great selection of wines.
The food was great, my wife and I enjoyed all three courses we had. Not five stars because we found our server to be kinda cold and indifferent to us. Not a very welcoming face to the restaurant.
I have been a faithful customer since their opening. Decor is very whimsical and the food outstanding!
The actual restaurant is probably one of the cooler spaces I have ever dined in. The under the sea motif was perfectly portrayed and this place is worth visiting just give the space a look. We had a large group and they seated us in a private back area. Great space, great sommelier, and fine wait staff. Food was fabulous and no one was disappointed. My filet was a perfect piece of beef and for dessert they have a chocolate flourless thing that is off the charts good. I highly recommend this place
My wife works near Union Square so we drop in here every once in a while to eat dinner and avoid the rush hour traffic. The food is always great, but the most recent time we went there the menu had been converted to a prix fix where you ordered a 3 or 4 course meal and then selected from appetizer, entree and dessert sections. It felt more restrictive than having an open menu since my wife and I will frequently share plates and order a combo of a couple of appetizers and a single entree.
Delicious, did not disappoint. Great service and food, the heirloom salad was my favorite part of the meal.
One of my preferred spots for tasty seafood. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. The bill was appropriate for the quality. This place has great reviews for a reason.
I dined in this restaurant during a trip to San Francisco. I didn’t have a reservation but they offered us a seat around the bar which was great. The service from the three bar staff was awesome. It made the experience so much better. The restaurant is a little fancy and upscale with delicious fine dining meals which seem to change because the menu was dated with today’s date. It has an under-the sea theme with octopus tentacles as stool legs and mirror frames; look up and you will see huge glass jellyfish hanging from the ceiling. It’s a seafood restaurant that has an oyster bar and a large caviar list on the menu. The menu doesn’t have a lot of items on it but the food is delicious. We even had a special visit from the chef who made our spaghetti and truffle meal which was so nice. Everything was fresh and tasty. Dessert and tea was also really good.
Amazing food and staff !
An ATF. It should be 4 1/2 star but 1/2 are not available. It would be a five but the menu's changed since i was last here and the prices are quite a bit more than I remember. Otherwise it'd be a 5. However the food was great, not excellent. But great. The 1 lone critique is that the halbut was over cooked. Rather disappointed.
The food was spectacular both in flavor and presentation. The service was impeccable. We absolutely loved it!
Nice place to eat. Seafood is great.
Phenomenal time for 20th Anniversary. Original proposal place as well. Great food, great staff!!
NIce meal between the two Harry Potter plays. Been there before and went back to celebrate our anniversary.
This is an excellent restaurant. I have been there a couple of times over the years and they offer continuously outstanding seafood. I can recommend this for anyone who enjoys a very fine dining experience!
I’ve lived in SF for almost two years and am kicking myself for just trying this for the first time. Hands down on of the best happy hours in the city. Oysters, burgers, ceviche, and great drinks for less than $7! Insane. And they’re all amazing. Jaime helped my fiancé and I at the bar and he is so great. Amazing drinks and gave us a rundown of everything on the menu. Sadly for my weight loss goals, I will be coming back here a lot - especially for happy hour!

You must try the the linguine &seafood pasta for tomato cream sauce, it is so good that I want to lick my plate. We also tried the whole crab for appetizer ,the crab is so fresh and sweet that I don't care about my rabble manners! All the seafood is so fresh and staffs are really friendly! I definitely will come back soon!
Excellent food and service. Wonderful atmosphere as well. Everything I ordered was perfect. I had a tuna appetizer, swordfish and octopus main course and a chocolate dessert. It was the perfect amount of food too. I had a glass of Pinot with dinner. It was priced as expected and was worth it. I definitely would go back.
The dining experience here at Farallon was very unique, primarily due to the decor. Never have I seen jellyfish lights hanging from the ceiling. The food here is pretty good, though their menu is a bit light on seafood entrees from what I could tell. While the oysters they had on offering was quite delicious, there was also only a few selections to choose from. All in all, it was an enjoyable night. Just wished there were more seafood options to choose from.
Happy Hour is a can't miss. Absolutely gorgeous interior
Amazing experience. The food was fantastic with subtle undertones of flavor with a presentation that was exceptional yet not over stated. The service was perfect and personal. We requested to be moved because of a loud table and are request was honored with no difficulty. If I could give 6 stars I would.
